Nella currently plays both solo Celtic harp and with the group “Celtic Fire”, which performs an eclectic mix of traditional as well as classically inspired Irish, Scottish, and Welsh music. Celtic Fire performs in concert and as part of the national organization, Young Audiences. Through Young Audiences, they present an informational program for students of all ages throughout the metro Atlanta area. Nella and the other members of Celtic Fire, John Maschinot and Katie Baughman, combine their talents of good humor and fine playing to make every performance fun for all audiences.
The instruments in the group include Celtic harp, uilleann pipes, tin whistle, Irish wooden flute, fiddle, voice, bodhran, and Irish dancing.
As a soloist, in 2002, Nella had the privilege of performing the Southeastern premier of Laura Zaerr’s Celtic Harp Concerto with the Dekalb Symphony Orchestra, a piece she also later performed with the Atlanta Chamber Players.

|In 2003, she was honored to join the world renowned Irish group, the Chieftains, in concert as a tribute to the memory of their long time harper, Derek Bell. Of this performance, Jig Time International wrote, “Nella Rigell from Atlanta gave a very moving performance” and from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, “Atlanta harpist Nella Rigell, however, filled in nicely.”
